Young Farmers Champions Network nominated for the young achievers award 2018

We are excited to announce that Young Farmers Champions Network has been nominated for the 2018 young achievers award in the category of farming and agro-processing. He will be competing with Fiona Rukwanzi of Nyunya, Bazil Mwota of AgroDuuka, Edward Mukiibi of Developing Innovations in School Cultivation and Jean Onyait of Akellobanker.

The Young Achievers Awards has since its inaugural Awards ceremony, recognized and celebrated outstanding youth in the Ugandan Community that have excelled in various realms such as the Arts, Entrepreneurship, Media and Journalism, Philanthropy, Innovation, Sports among others

In recognition of challenges entrepreneurs encounter and why many give up, they established the Award as a way of celebrating achievement of young people, and giving encouragement and support to those who have chosen the path to entrepreneurship and leadership in society.

Young Farmers Champions Network-YOFCHAN’s C.E.O Tumwebaze Khamutima, been selected for the OFID Scholarship to attend the upcoming One Young World Summit 2018 in The Hague, Netherlands. Khamutima  joins passionate young leaders from all over the world who will descend on The Hague for the summit, which brings together the most valuable young talent from global and national companies, NGOs, universities and other forward-thinking organisations. With recognised leaders of integrity like former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus lending their global stature to the delegate’s views as well as inspiring them to create positive change, Khamutima will play an active role in debating, formulating and sharing innovative solutions for the pressing issues that the world faces.  “Getting an opportunity to network with leading experts in my field is always great. With Young Farmers Champions Network at a critical stage of its growth, where we are seeking to scale up our impact and improve the standards of living for young farmers, this summit will help us learn innovative solutions to global issues.”
