Omukazi Asiimwe
I own Amagara Farm; a 5.5 acre commercial vegetable farm set up in September 2017. The farm produces tomatoes, red and white cabbages, broccoli, cucumbers, onions, carrots, peppers, sweet-corn, melons, and aubergine grown in succession to ensure all year round production. Some goats are kept to provide manure. I enjoy training, learning from and working with other farmers to establish profitable farming ventures.
Violet Kukundakwe
Violet is commercial poultry farmer from Wakiso district, Central region. She has organised fellow youth to rare chicken and helps them sell to the bigger and reliable markets she has. She empowers young women in poultry rearing skills and equips them with inputs necessary to do farming as a business. This has helped her manage the consistent supply of chicken products to her customers.
Muzamiru Mwanga
Muzamiru is a disabled young farmer champion from Kapchorwa district, who believes disability is not inability. After university he organised a group of eight unemployed youth in his community and established an onion and irish potato farms that they work on collectively. The group is earning enough from these gardens compared to available white collar jobs and this has changed their lives and is engaging more youth by training them and linking them to markets.

Kisembo Charles
Kisembo Goodyear is a passionate young farmer champion from Kagadi district mid western Uganda. He is doing fruits like watermelons and mangoes and commercial piggery farming, he also operates pork joints and because his only farm can not satisfy the market, he has empowered fellow youth in the community to rare pigs and supply the pork joints and sell to the bigger market.
Bamwenda James
Bamwenda James is a mixed farmer from Nakaseke district central part of Uganda, he grows maize, beans, rears goats, cows and chicken on 100 acre land. He has empowered over 75 fellow youth in his community through organizing them into producer associations. The association also does bulking for collective marketing.
Atuhaire Flavia
Atuhaire Flavia is a passionate younger farmer from Namayumba-Wakiso District, Hoima road. She grows Passion fruits on a more than 1 acre land is giving trainings fellow women and youth and women in her community, offers consultancy and advisory services regarding passion fruit farming to more women, Men and Youth of interest.
Otto Ealvin
Ealvin is a cassava farmer from Oyam district. He has organised fellow youth into cassava farming targeting cassava cuttings market mostly from Rwanda, this has changed their lives and he has since become a role model in his community and inspiring more young people to embrace farming as a business.
Musobo Dafara
Dafara is a leader of the youth at Kaserem Area Cooperative, Kapchorwa district, he is a maize farmer and has organised fellow youth in the community to do the same so that they bulk and sell collectively. This has helped him together with fellow young farmers to reap big from maize farming.
Agnes Akurut
Agnes is an young farmer champion from soroti district eastern part of Uganda. She produces tomatoes and green paper in two green hoses. She uses drip irrigation to ensure that the crops have continous supply of water. She also rears chicken, turkeys and is growing pumpkins on two acres of land. She has empowered fellow young women that are doing similar work and they are marketing and selling collectively to demand better prices for their produce.
Cherukut Doreen
Doreen is a maize farmer from Kapchorwa district, she is also our champions coordinator for Eastern Uganda. She has been doing this work since 2014 and the journey has been a tough one, she started by hiring land but now she owns and practices her farming on 15 acres of land. She is an inspiration to fellow women young farmers in her community and has organised them into a women young farmers association, she helps them with the marketing and the group has a SACCO.
Yokana Ibonista
Yokana is a young farmer from Kapchorwa district, after university, he acquired five acres of land from his parents, instead of struggling for a job, he started maize farming, he has now diversified to onions and tomatoes, he says this has changed the livelihood of their family since he is using modern methods of farming and earning big unlike his parents who used to practice subsistance farming. He is now taking care of his siblings school fees.
Amenya Eunice
Amenya Eunice Okabo is a coffee and mushrooms farmer champion from lira, Uganda. She has a supply chain of young women farmers who produce mashroom and she provides market. She sells fresh delicious oyster mushrooms, dry mushrooms, offer consultancy and advisory services and give trainings on mushroom cultivation to women and youth who are key players in the agricultural sector.
Bosco Kanaahe
Bosco Kanaahe is a mixed farmer champion from Rukungiri district, he grows apples a crop that he has introduced in the area himself and has made it work. He also adds value to apples, bananas, mangoes and milk. He has empowered other youth in his community as outgrowers of these fruits as he provides market for them and this is improving the livelihoods of many youth in his community
Mathias Walwana
Mathias Walwana is a champion young farmer from Mayuge district busoga region of Uganda, he keeps bees, produces honey and honey bee related products. He also adds value to honey and beeswax to produce products like hair oil, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, body cream, lip bamz, hand wash liquid and cakes made with honey. He trains and supports interested youth in apiculture and entrepreneurship
Gerald Katabazi
Gerald Katabazi a young farmer champion from central region, he is a C.E.O at volcano coffee limited, a coffee barista and roaster, he has a chain of young coffee farmers that supplies him coffee where he makes volcano from all regions that he adds value to make final coffee products, he also operates volcano coffee shops and has an academy training young people to become coffee baristas.
Acidri Ali
Acidiri is young farmer champion from Arua district, northern Uganda, the C.E.O Arua honey, an apiary farm that keeps bees and processes bees products into honey. He has empowered fellow youth in arua to keep bees and supply him with honey which he turns into different honey products like bee wax, organic honey and propolis that he sales in his local community and Uganda cities like Kampala.
Hakizimana Gerald
Hakizimana is a horticulture farmer from Kisoro district, he deals in cabbages and pepper. He adds value to pepper and sells in both locally and internationally. He has mobilised a network of young farmers in Kisoro that grows papper and he provides market for them. This has changed the mindsets of young people who looked at agriculture as a dirty business but are now seeing it as a source of livelihoods.
Kwemboi Felix
Felix is a champion from Kapchorwa district, he has organised a network of young farmers. He is promoting contract farming among the youth through his contract with Mukwano Industries. He has signed over 158 contracts with young farmers who have opened 640 acres of sunflower and Soybean. They also have a SACCO of 12 groups with about 358 members.
Cherop Joel
Joel is a diversified farmer from Kapchorwa district, he deals in onions, irish potatoes and apples. He also supports young farmers in his community through organising them into groups and enables them to access land for farming mostly from government land and church land which is not being utilised. He is an inspiration to the youth in his community.
Richard Isabirye
Richard is a coffee nursary bed operator and a tree farmer, he has mobilised over 50 youth who operate nursary beds and they sell collectively to Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA). In his words he says he has inspired his community and young people have found what to do for a living than waste their time in towns doing gambling and other bad practctices.
Fredrik Mirimu
Mirimu is a farmer from Ntungamo district, he is the founder of rain forest farmers, an organisation that is empowering youth in his local community to engage into farming as a business. He is also involved in tree seedlings multiplication and has a network youth as outgrowers of tree seeds that they sell collectively to his ready markets.
Dickens Aseu
Dickens is a diversified young farmer from Soroti district dealing in citrus and sorghum. He has over 70,000 Citrus Seedlings, has mobilised fellow youth to grow sorghum that they supply to Victoria seeds through contract farming. He personally has about 70 acres of sorghum to supply seed to Victoria Seeds with a lot of potential to improve.
Bwambare Zalimon
Bwambale is a mixed farmer from Kasese district. He deals in fishing, apiary, goat rearing and horticulture on a 20 acre land. He is an inspirttion to many youth in his community as they saw him start with limited resources and is now successful. He is empowering them to do farming as business and he also links them to markets.
Muhindo Willington
Muhindo is a dairy farmer from Kabarole district, western Uganda. He works at Kabarole district local government. He has used his position at the district to mobilise youth into agriculture as a business. He has also linked them to financial services, genuine agro-input dealers and linking them to better and reliable markets.
Karijiraki Jamir
Jamir is a tea farmer from Kabale district western part of Uganda. He is the proprietor of Buck Tea a company that adds value to tea. He has a network of young people doing tea seedlings multiplication and tea growing that supplies to his company. In his word he says until young people need to engage in agro-processing for agriculture to pay them as they expect.
Tamale Jonathan
Tamale is a young farmer champion from Kayunga district, central region, he is the C.E.O at Nile Coffee Farmers Association a group of trained coffee farmers seeking to improve the livelihood of farmers in Kayunga district through processing and selling coffee. Nile Coffee has inspired many youth to engage into coffee farming, processing and marketing.
Gabriel Kirama
Gabriel is a young farmer champion from Kitgum district, Northern Uganda. He is a post conflict expert and he believes improving livelihoods in post conflict areas is the best way to maintain peace. He now works with a network of young farmers in his community by empowering them to engage into agribusiness. He also provides market for the young farmers by linking them to local buyers, processors and exporters.
Oscar Ogole
Oscar is a director at a youth led company Golholdings company limited, With support from EU Through OPM and PSFU. They have put up agro-processing plant at bala trading centre, Kole District. They produce grains mainly rice and maize. They also have maize threasher Machine and are making the following products from cow horn like fashionable buttons, sun glasses, serving spoon, laddle spoon, honey spoon, bangles caft, combs, embossing ring.
Ekongu Benard
Benard is a diversified young farmer from Soroti district, he rears local chicken, fish and grows maize and sunflower. He started after his studies and this has made him not to look for low paying jobs in Kampala city but instead has chosen to inspire fellow graduates who have not found better jobs to join him in agribusiness because with what he has been doing, he has been able to earn enough to educate his siblings and take care of his needy parents.
